Martin Alberto Moratillo Andrade was born in 1968 in Lima, Peru. He studied printing at the local museum of Arts under teacher Jose Huerto from 1981–1983 and then in 1988 under teacher Rosa Giron. From 1987 to 1992 he studies at the Faculty of Arts at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, specialising in printing and engraving. And in 1998 studied at the National College of Art in Lahore, Pakistan where he was artist in residence on a Unesco- Achsberg bursary.

 
Martin Moratillo’s national exhibitions include Festival, Que tal Raza in 1997; Salon Regional de Lima Casa Rimac in 1998; 1 Bienal Nacional de Lima Casa Rimac in 1998; Jardin Babelico Place: Galeria de la Universidad Ricardo Palmaq in 1999 and El Laberinto de la Choledad Place: Museo de San Marcos in 1999. His international exhibitions include:
 

Mini Print International de Cadaques Spain 1997; The 19th International Independent Exhibition of prints in Kanagawa 1997 Japan 1997: South American Art in Poland.

 
Stuka Bielska Bwa Gallery 1998. Personal exhibitions include and exhibition of prints and drawing at the Rothas Gallery in Islamabad, Pakistan in 1998; Exhibition of prints and drawings at the NCA Gallery, Lahore, Pakistan in 1998 and When the reason sleeps at the Museo de Arte de San Marcos. Moratillo has won many awards including the First prize at the XXIV National Printing Salon of the Peruvian North American cultural Institute and an Honour mention at the Salon Regional de Lima.
 
His teaching experience from 1991 ranges from Printing teacher (woodcut instructor) at the Faculty of Art at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru from 1992–1995 to drawing and printing teacher at Corriente Alterna College of Art in 1999. In 1995 Martin Moratillo became a founder member of the cultural Association ICOGRAF (Instituto Para la Communicacion Grafica).
